Committed

by G. Wickizer  ©5/2003

Rain may fall, snow hit the ground.

Sun’ll shine if the clouds don’t come to town.

These things I am fairly certain of

One thing fits me like a glove.

             (Chorus)

I’m crazy about my baby,

I’m committed to her love.

Flowers bloom, when it’s spring

Robins show up, start to sing.

Peace comes on the wings of a Dove

One thing fits me like a glove

(Chorus)

Stars are out, moon shining down

Everybody loves a clown

Love makes the world go around

Your love keeps my feet on the ground.

(Chorus)

Whatcha Gonna Do

by Gary W. Wickizer ©2001

As I walk along this old dirt road,

I must be doing something right I’m getting old.

But you know, I don’t really mind

I got one more day in time.

Sometimes things is right, sometimes they’re wrong

Some of your days are short some are long.

Way things turn out could be bad or good,

You may holler out, “That didn’t work the way that it should”

Whatcha Gonna Do, Whatcha gonna do.

All you can do is what you can.

Dig the dirt and play in the sand.

Fly through the air, walk upon the land.

Take your turn walk like a man.

Keep your eyes wide open, your hands upon the wheel,

Life’s a card game and it’s your deal.

Some folks like to scream and fight,

I know everything’s gonna be all right…..

Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do

Never know when the end is in sight,

Could be the middle of the day or a cold dark night.

You may get to finish what you start to do,

Eat your lunch or tie your shoe.

Go for water find your well run dry,

Time to stop walking and learn to fly…

Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do

Celebrate

by Gary Wickizer ©2003

What can I say about today?

It’s not much different than yesterday.

The sun came up, when the moon left town.

Probably stick around till it goes down.

Like the stones in a path

The water in a brook

Our days follow each other

Like the pages in a story book

(Chorus)

Let’s celebrate the anniversary

Of a brand new day.
I don’t want to wait till tomorrow

It’s way too far away

A year from now, seems an eternity

Eternity is fine, if you spend it with me.

You know how time slips up on you

The way it slides out on the sly

Everyday you pass through

Is just a cloud in the sky, it’s true

(Chorus)

Time is like a train, rollin’ down the track

The days you once had, never do come back.

So cherish every moment as it passes your way

Like the smile of a child, lost in his play.

(Chorus)

I JUST SING

by Gary Wickizer © 1972

I might be out watching the sunrise,

Or sitting on a cliff and watching the birds fly.

But, sometimes I’m so happy I just sing.

I might be home sitting with my lady,

Or out taking a walk where it’s nice and shady.

But, sometimes I’m so happy I just sing.

(CHORUS)

I just sing anything that comes to mind.

Something that I hope will rhyme.

Sometimes I’m so happy I just sing.

Said I might be home sitting and thinking,

Or out with old friends hooting and a drinking.

But sometimes I’m so happy I just sing.

(CHORUS)

(BRIDGE)

I just sing. I just sing. Sometimes I’m so happy I just sing.

Repeat 1st verse and scat and chorus and bridge

Charlie Hates the Blues

By G. Wickizer ©2003

Got up this morning, put on clothes again

Went to the kitchen, had coffee and then

Telephone rang, bank’s on the line

Said you owe us money, bring it in by nine.

(Chorus)

One thing’s for certain, you know it’s true,

Ain't no doubt about it,…………Charlie hates the blues.

Went to the car, saw the broken glass

Tried to start it, had no gas

The radio’s broken, won’t make a sound

Got out saw four flat tires, clear to the ground.

(Chorus)

Back in the house woman’s putting me down

Says she’s tired of me actin’ like a clown

If I don’t straighten up, quit messin’ around

I’ll be sorry, cause she gonna leave this town.

(Chorus)

Down to the bus, the bus was late

Got to my job, they had locked the gate

Sign said he that lost done hesitate

I said ---- Man-----ain’t that great?

(Chorus)

Rainy Day

by G. Wickizer ©2003

Sittin’ in the house on a rainy day

Everything and nothin’ goin my way

I don’t have nothing else to say

Sitting in the house on a rainy day.

Stuck in they house on a rainy day

Nothing to do but sit and play

Guess I’ll just pick away the day

Stuck in the house on a rainy day

(Chorus)

Oh rain don’t go away

I don’t wanna do nothing today

Rain, rain go ahead and stay

Just let time tick away.

I been savin’ it up for a rainy day

Oh yea, been sockin’ it away

Bring it out and give it away

Cause I been savin’ it up for this rainy day

(Chorus)

Sitting and groovin’ on a rainy day

Stereo’s on Jim’s playin’ Dream Away

Reminds me of the good old days

Sitting and groovin’ on a rainy day

(Chorus)

Circles

by Gary Wickizer ©1973

Life is real, it's not a game,

Not always easy ad it's never the same.

I go around in circles.

Up and down and all around,

In the sky and on the ground.

I go around in circles.

First it’s light, then it’s dark

Walk down the street end up in the park

                                        I go round in ..........circles

Things is my way and then they're not.

I could be cool and then become hot.

I’m going around in circles.

Circles from above, circles from below.

Just where I'm going I don't really know.

But, I'm goin around in circles.

A circle's got no beginning, got no end

You don't know where you're going, know where you been

You're goin' round in circles

You may get turned, or maybe tossed.

Goin in circles you don't get lost.

But you're goin round in circles.

Life is real, it's not a game,

Not always easy and it's never the same.

I go around in circles.

In the Snow

by Gary Wickizer © 2003

I took a walk the other day,

Fresh fallin’ snow I made my way.

The air was crisp, cold and clean

The clouds muted the sun and its beam.

As I walked a thought came to my head

My feet could have something to be said.

A large patch in the virgin snow,

My anonymous message for all to know.

(Chorus)

It’s a peace sign in the snow,

Peace sign in the snow.

I walked it once and I walked it again

Thinking ‘bout the world we live in

Leaving my message quiet and clear

Peace on earth, at least right here.

(Chorus)

I’ll go out again today

Re-step with my feet that way.

Re-say what I said yesterday

Peace on earth

Right here today.

(Chorus)

CHESHIRE MOON

by Gary Wickizer ©1993

Cheshire moon up in the blue.

I look at you, and I wonder who.

Oh whom are you smiling at tonight?

Cheshire moon way out there.

I look at you and I got to stare.

Oh, whom are you smiling at tonight?

(CHORUS)

Don’t you know there’s trouble in the land.

Things are getting our of hand.

It’s hard to find enough food to eat.

Get new soles for the shoes on your feet.

Cheshire Moon in the sky.

I look at you and I wonder why.

Oh why, are you smiling so bright tonight?

Oh, Cheshire Moon a way out there.

I look up at you, and I wonder where.

Oh, where is my sweet baby at tonight?

(CHORUS)
